Dear Branches,
I pray this email finds you well.
This week we have seen quite the impact from COVID-19. We mourn with those who have lost loved ones and pray for comfort in this time of loss and uncertainty.
We are in the national spotlight as to how a community can come together and fight the spread of the highly contagious and deadly Coronavirus. In response, Branches Church is following recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, King County Public Health, the State Department of Health as well as our local city and school district.
As you probably know, the Northshore School District has closed their buildings and moved to remote learning. Because of this, our gathering for Sunday, March 8th is CANCELLED. As this is a rapidly changing situation we will take this day by day as to our next gathering. We will keep you updated as things evolve.
Branches is about Growing Together. How will we do that when we are not together on Sunday?
- We encourage people to continue to meet together. Meet up for coffee or for your kids to play. Do something crazy like call just to say hi and ask how they are doing.
- Our small groups will continue as scheduled.
- Take time to pray for our community.
- If you need anything please email or call. Let us know how we can join you in prayer.
The Church shares Good News in the speed and power of relationship. I see this as a time for the Church to shine!
Don’t live in fear but be smart. Wash your hands more often. Shake hands less. Do not go out if you have any flu symptoms. If you have a compromised immune system be extra careful.
For Branches the timing of this is significant. We are 2-3 weeks from opening our new Headquarters! This has been in the works for over a year and we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. If there is a time to come together it is now!
If you are in good health and over 18 years old please join us Saturday and Sunday from 10AM-12PM at our new location. Wear work clothes and bring gloves. We will be cleaning and working on several projects.
Continue to pray for our community and communities across the world who are impacted by the Coronavirus. Let’s work together to serve each other through this. May we be the light, hope and love of Jesus in this world.
For Christ’s Glory,
— Tim Oas
