A New Way To Be Human - "Dealing With Our Anger"
This week Todd looks at what Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount about Anger. Todd also shares personal stories of success and failure when dealing with Anger in his own life.
In Matthew 5, Jesus addresses how the religion of the Pharisees misinterpreted God's law. Jesus clarified how to properly interpret laws like "Thou Shall Not Kill". Jesus says, its not enough that we simply don't kill each other. In fact, our outward behavior should not be our primary concern. Our primary concern should be with aligning our hearts, thoughts, and motives with the heart of Jesus - so we never get angry enough with another person to want to hurt them, in any way.
Who are you angry with?
Who are you harboring contempt for?
Can you see what your anger and contempt are doing to your heart? It's certainly making it cynical, hard, and cold.
What would reconciliation look like?
Only the love of Jesus can bring true and lasting reconciliation and peace.
